Pay-what-you-can
I offer workshops and sewing lessons as a Pay-What-You-Can service, because I believe that these skills gained and spaces shared should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation. If you have scheduled sewing lessons with me, you can pay for them—as you are able—below. If you have signed up for multiple lessons, feel free to pay for them one at a time or all together.
I also accept cash, check, and debit/credit cards in person via Square.
Suggested prices:
One-on-one lessons: $45 for 90-minute lesson ($30/hr)
Group lessons: $50/person for 120-minute lesson ($25/hr/person)
Please feel free and empowered to select a different price that feels right to you. Suggested price too high for your budget? Set a price that is manageable. Have the financial flexibility to be more generous? Choose a higher amount that feels right to you in exchange for the value received; my family and I are oh so grateful. Can’t pay at all? I love to barter! Reach out :)

I know it can feel hard and stressful to set your own price for other people’s skilled work and services. I want to emphasize that I use this payment model because I believe in alternative economies, not because I necessarily have the financial flexibility to offer my work at lower prices. To keep my business values aligned with my personal values, I’m always going to do my best to prioritize sustainability, accessibility, mutual aid, and reciprocal generosity over profit. A Pay-What-You-Can model helps to push back against the inaccessibility rampant in the art world (and in general). When folks are able to pay more than my suggested price, it helps me to continue doing this work in my little corner of the universe.
